Mailboxes in the subdivision are on one side of the street for all houses (the side of the street that does not allow parking).

The HOA does not regulate the mailbox design or placement. The mailbox must follow the US Postal Service requirements described at this link.

Some neighbors coordinate having one post with 2, 3 or 4 mailboxes for adjacent homes. This is totally up to them to coordinate. The HOA does not involve itself in such matters and will not resolve any disputes regarding mailboxes.
